rt4ae01 FAQ

rt4ae01 I'm sending 485 signal from this meter.. Currently it goes to solar inverter by cable 。

So instead I want to use wireless connection. So I have 2 of these devices
But when I do this and they are on, nothing is going to the inverter so it comes up with an error..
I tried to relocate one of the units away from the other unit .and now it's not working again 🤦🏻♂
When I connect the 485 signal wires both lights flash from each unit ( actually if I connect to unit 1 then the lights also flash on unit 2 and the opposite too) so I'm assuming the units are talking to each other?
Answer :
By default, all units will communicate with each other.
If you need to group 2 units together, and then multiple groups can communicate without interfering with each other.
You can do this: Please assign different "working channels" to different groups.
For example:
1 Use AT commands to set the "working channel" of the two units in group 1 to 111.
1 Then use AT commands to set the "working channel" of the two units in group 2 to 112.

Question :
I'm also wondering if the RT24G01 units may be more effective due to range.. but wil try with these units first. By the way this is the meter I'm using which I'm trying to wirelessly transfer signal to inverter . https://www.eastroneurope.com/products/view/sdm120ct-modbus
Answer :
rt24g01 is a 2.4g wireless transceiver. Its transmission speed is faster, but the transmission distance is not as good as 433MHz.
Question :
Hi again. So I rechecked each unit to ensure the parameters were the same..and they are .

And when I connect the 485 wires the unit seems to transmit and receive
But I still get an error on the inverter, so the signal is not correct...
I've checked the info from the meter itself..and it's rs485 modbus protocol..

s this the same protocol as the units can send???
I think this could be the issue - that they cannot interpret the modbus protocol????
Answer :
This is a wireless RS485 transparent transmission module, which can transmit any command. Please use wired RS485 to test the inverter first.
Question :
It works fine when wired direct to the inverter.
Ive had it wired for some time.. I now want to make it wireless so I can move current clamp to another location
Answer :
Please take a video to show me the data and time interval transmitted by the inverter.
Question :
Sorry for my question but how can I record this through my rs485 device.? What software can I use to listen to the transmission?
Answer:
You can use USB to RS485 to monitor the inverter data on the computer
Please use the serial port assistant to receive data, and then send the video. I want to see the length and time interval of the inverter sending data.
